Question

My husband and I were arguing over the phone and he was at the masjid. I said I was coming there to talk to him and he said, "if you come here, you're divorced." Would that mean that if I go to that masjid at all (not just when we were arguing), even days from now, I will be divorced even after the reason he didn't want me to come no longer exists? (He only said that he didn't want me to come because we were arguing and I wanted to talk to him during that time about the argument).

He said that he only meant it as a threat too. He just wanted to prevent me from coming to the masjid to talk to him. Please let me know if I will be divorced if I go to that masjid.

Answer:

You will not be divorced if you go to that masjid, as your husband intended this condition (i.e. not coming to him) during the duration of your argument. If after the argument you were to go to the Masjid, it will not affect your marriage.
