Question:

Can the hair that is on the right and left side of the soul patch be removed/trimmed

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

According to Hanafi jurists, the beard is that which is on the jawbone¹. Since the soul patch is a single small patch of facial hair just below the lower lip and above the chin² and not on the jawbone it will be permissible to cut it and the hair on its sides.
