Question:

Is it permissible to work as a mail and newspaper carrier since they contain pictures and fake news?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Here you are the delivery person. The essence of your job is permissible by itself. The only time it would be impermissible is if most of the content you are delivering is either haraam itself or it is encouraging, promoting or defending haraam. If most of the content is considered permissible, then your job is also permissible. If most of the content is impermissible (e.g. if you were delivering primarily pornographic, lewd, immoral, unjust material etc), then the job would be impermissible.

Allah (s.w.t) says:

وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَىٰ ۖ وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ

“And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in punishment”.[1]
