Question

Assalamualaikum, This is Mohammed Ghouse, I got blessed with a cute baby girl on June 1st 2016. We have decided her name as Rumaysa Faleeha, inspired by Umme Sulaim. Could you let me know the combination which we made is correct? Appreciate your guidance if it has to be changed.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

In response to your question;

The issue of naming a child is rather an important one as it will play a major role in the child’s life later, in regards to personality and what it says about the individual, it is also the primary term by which communication will be made directed towards her/him and thus care should be taken when giving a name. Branching off this, the names you have mentioned — Rumaysa Faleeha would be suitable.

Rumaysa; on the basis of being the name of Umme Sulaym, a notable figure in Islamic history.

Faleeha as you have cited will be better in the spelling of ‘Faliha’, with the meaning of successful and prosperous, derived from the Arabic root words F-L-H which can be found in many places in the Quran.
