Question

Hazrat, please confirm if one does perform the second Umrah the next day, then is it still wajib to do halaq even though there is no hair to be shaved?

The majority of the foot must be showing. Right? So, one cannot wear those sandals that cover the front part of the foot?

In the name of Allah the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Answer

  1. It is compulsory for the person performing umrah to either shave or shorten the hair. [1]

Therefore if a person has already shaved his head upon the completion of the first Umrah, then after completing the second Umrah the next day the head will need to be shaven again removing any amount of hair that may have grown back within that time.

  1. In the state of Ihram, both the ankles need to be left uncovered and cannot be covered as well as the upper and middle part of the feet where the laces of the shoes would normally cover. [2]

In conclusion, the majority of the feet will need to remain uncovered in the state of Ihram and one cannot wear any sort of foot wear that will cover the parts mentioned above.
