Question:

A few times a day, a thin, white fluid comes out of my private area. It is very difficult to always change my underwear. What do I do in terms of cleaning it and wudu? What is this fluid and why does it come out?

Answer:

Most likely this is a prostatic fluid that is milky and white in appearance. It sometimes appears after urinating. Having involuntary discharge could indicate health issues such as an enlarged prostate or something else. You must seek medical help to determine what the discharge is and the reason for the discharge. [1]

As far as Fiqh is concerned, if you are having regular discharge of this fluid but it doesn’t encompass an entire prayer time then you can simply place a tissue/napkin to catch all the fluid. When you know the discharge has stopped you may remove the tissue/napkin, change your undergarments (if need be), clean yourself and perform wudu/prayer. If the discharge is encompassing an entire prayer time, then please follow the rules of an excused person.
