Question

What is the hukm of putting names with Allah on grave boards?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

In regards to gravestones, fuqaha have mentioned that one may only place a gravestone in order to recognise whose grave it is, now in regards to names with Allah it is best not to place the name on the gravestone and maybe just use initials so one can recognise the graves, Now a question may arise what about Quran ayats etc? In regards to this one should be very careful and avoid doing so as this can be a result of disrespect.[i]
