\n\tAssalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tCan you fast if you are taking vaginal medications twice a day along with possible vaginal ultrasound?  How can one pray during these conditions taking vaginal medicines two times a day even three?<\/span><\/span>
\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tAnswer:<\/b><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe fast will not be nullified if she placed the medication before starting the fast. It will, however, be nullified if placed inside after the fast has started. (Fatwa Rahimiyah pg 139 English Darul Ishat print)<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever vaginal ultrasound will not break the fast as the private organ has no connection to the digestive system.

\n\tIn terms of praying Salah, you could insert a tampon, pad, or cotton inside the private parts to prevent the discharge from coming. Until the discharge does not show on the area of the pad, which is beyond the inner part of the vagina, wudhu will not break. (Fatawa Mahmoodiyah p.197 v.16)<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, if the discharge is continuous to the extent that you are unable to do wudhu and read the compulsory rakaats of the fardh prayer you will be considered a Mazoor.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tA Ma’zoor shall make Wudhu for every Fardh Salah. The wudhu of a Ma’zoor remains valid for the duration of the Salah time and all the factors which break wudhu besides the factor responsible for making one Ma’zoor, will nullify the wudhu of a Ma’zoor. (Ahsanul Fatawa p.77 v.2 & Fatawa Darul Uloom Deoband p.298 v.1)<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
