Precious stones such as pearls, rubies, and diamonds are exempt from Zakat. (Aapke Masaail p.365 v.3)<\/p>\n<p>With regards to your question, Zakat on mixed articles like gold or silver mixed with other alloys are determined by the overpowering of metal. If one has gold or silver mixed with other metals and the gold or silver is more than 50% of the total article, zakat will be necessary.
