\n\tWhen Yusuf (as) introduced himself to his brothers, why did he send his cloth back with them and not go back himself?<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t\tAnswer:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/span>\n\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\tYusuf (peace be upon him)’s father, Yaqoob (peace be upon him), had become blind from excessive crying.[1]<\/sup><\/sup><\/a> Allah ordered Yusuf (peace be upon him) to send his upper garment which would then restore Yaqoob (peace be upon him)’s sight. The upper garment that Yusuf (peace be upon him) sent was actually the upper garment Ibrahim (peace be upon him) had worn when he was thrown into the fire by Namrood. His clothes had been removed before he was flung into the fire but then Jibreel had come to him with this upper garment which was made from the silk of Jannah. This upper garment had been passed down from Ibrahim (peace be upon him) to Ishaaq (peace be upon him), then to Yaqoob (peace be upon him).<\/span><\/span>\n\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\tGiven Yusuf (peace be upon him)’s beauty, Yaqoob (peace be upon him) would attach this upper garment to Yusuf (peace be upon him)'s neck as an amulet to protect him from the evil eye.<\/span><\/span>\n\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\tWhen Yusuf (peace be upon him) was thrown in the well by his brothers they also removed his upper garment. Jibreel had come and put the upper garment stored in Yusuf (peace be upon him)’s amulet on him.<\/span><\/span>\n\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\tFurther in Yusuf (peace be upon him)’s story, Allah ordered him through Jibreel that he should send this particular upper garment with his brothers to his father (Yaqoob (peace be upon him)) after they had recognised him, and this upper garment would be a means for restoring Yaqoob’s eyesight by the will of Allah.<\/span><\/span>\n\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\tGiven this command of Allah, Yusuf (peace be upon him) sent this upper garment and did not go himself to see his father.[2]<\/sup><\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/span>\n\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
