May I ask you about the classification of land status nowadays in Islam (Hanafi)?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Nowadays, in modern developing countries, are owners intentionally abandoned land, never claimed land, the original owner&#8217;s left over land, previously owned and abandoned lands all similar in status to the Mawat?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong><u>In The Name Of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong><u>Answer:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Mawat is a barren or uncultivated land.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Land can only be considered to be Mawat (unused) when it:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">i- has no owner<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">ii- it is owned but the owner is not known<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">iii- it is far away from inhabited.
