If a man gives one talaq to his wife at the time of marriage. And then he divorces her twice. Does this mean he cannot give another talaq because one talaq is with her.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Answer:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

If a person gives one talaq to his wife at the time of marriage and then divorces her twice then it is clear he has given 3 altogether and must separate from her at once.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This evidence for the above can be found in the Quran<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Allah swt mentions in Surah al-Baqarah ayah 229-230:<\/span><\/p>\n

Divorce is (only permissible) twice, thereafter either retaining her honorably or releasing her kindly\u2026If he divorces her (the third time), she will not be lawful for him unless she marries another husband (and he also divorces her).\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
