My father has his own house it is valued is nearly 25 lakhs but in the bank account has only rs: 600 so on my father is Qurbani required to do or not to do?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">2. Similarly my mother has gold it amounts will become nearly 5 lakhs so on my mother Qurbani is required to do or not to do and last 2 years the gold is kept in the bank and take a loan of money one lakh so past 2 years Qurbani also wants to do or no need?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong><u>In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong><u>Answer:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Sacrifice is compulsory for anyone wealthy. It is not compulsory for a poor person. For sacrifice to become compulsory it is not a condition that the prescribed wealth remains in his hand for a complete year. In fact, sacrifice becomes compulsory if a Muslim owns on the days of Eid-ul Adha the prescribed wealth in addition to his basic needs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The prescribed wealth is 612.36g of silver or its value or its equivalent or more, in addition to his basic needs is a wealthy person in the eyes of the Shariah. Others are poor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">As for your father, if RS 600 is equivalent to the price of 612.36g of silver then he is liable to perform Qurbani, if not then he is exempted. You should check it in your local market about the value of silver. It has been mentioned in Hidayah that \u201cThere is no Zakat on residential houses\u201d.(see: Hidayah, chapter: Zakat. Fatawa Hidiyyah, Chapter: Zakat) The one is exempted from Zakat is exempted from Qurbani too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">As for your mother, while her gold is in the bank as a mortgage she is not liable to offer sacrifice.
