A Question related to menstruation.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When determining the end of the period, is each day taken as 24 hrs? Or can the period end in the middle of the day?<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For example, A woman started to menstruate at 1:00 PM on Monday. If she doesn’t see any bleeding at 5:00 AM on Friday, can she take a bath and pray?<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Or will she wait until 1:00 PM for the 5th day to end and then take a bath?<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Fatawa Mahmoodiyah seems to suggest that each day of bleeding is 24 hrs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Answer:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The end of the period is determined by the stopping of the blood. Thus when the bleeding stops in this case at 5:00 AM she will take a bath and pray.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It is stated in Mukhtasar Al-Quduri \u201c If the blood of haydh stops in a time of fewer than ten days, it will not be permissible to have relations with her until she has a bath, or the time of a Salah passes\u201d1<\/sup><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
