I have a question about Zihar. it’s been 2 years of my engagement, I have done my Nikka but we are not living together because we have to wait for marriage. In the last 2 years, I have been calling my wife bby, babe, or baby. I was calling her this name out of affection and love. I would call her, my baby out of affection or I would call her that you are my cute baby or I will love you or care for you because you are my baby , bby. Now I heard about Zihar and I am worried that if Zihar has occurred.<\/span><\/p>\n

Zihar is when a person compares their wife to a mahram relative of theirs, either by lineage or fostering (milk), such as their mother, or part of them. [1]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This has to be coupled with an intention.[2]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Here what is being said is being intended, by the customary practice in the west, of someone they are in a relationship with. Thus this is not zihar.<\/span><\/p>\n
