A brother has a job offer from the Federal Reserve Bank, its an IT post, related to Security software, and application preparation etc, not directly involved in dealing with loans\/collection etc.<\/span><\/p>\n

Would this be permissible?<\/span><\/p>\n

he got a job as an IT in federal reserve and wants to know if it’s allowed or not, he is not dealing with interest or loans nor collecting it and the other job is a government job and does not have doubts about those type of things<\/span><\/p>\n

For a job to be Shari\u2019ah-compliant, the hours spent at work must involve permissible activities. If the work involves impermissible activities, then the job itself will be impermissible.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A person working in IT typically has no direct involvement with the bank’s activities or trading.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The salary you receive will be permissible as long as the majority of the funds in the firm do not come from interest. [Ahsan al-Fatawa Vol.7 Pg.329 \u2013 H.M.Sa\u2019eed Company]<\/span><\/p>\n
