I have a question and I hope you can help Insha Allah. I have a skin condition called psoriasis, it makes my skin intensely itch and when scratched (itching can be unbearable) I sometimes I get small cuts that bleed. The bleeding sometimes doesn\u2019t flow but stays in one place, or it looks pink with clear fluid (also not flowing), my question is in relation to wudu in this state according to the hanafi madhab.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 I understand flowing blood from wounds break wudu, however where its not flowing but wound is not dry \u2013 does clothing Touching the wet blood \/ clear fluid and there fore moving or absorbing it break the wudu? E.g. if on my knees, I kneel and it absorbs in to trousers?<\/span><\/p>\n

2. If there is some blood not flowing from its origin eg on my elbow , but water from wudu washes it out and moves it, does this affect wudu?<\/span><\/p>\n

3. As this is a life long condition that gets better or more severe through out the year, is there any concessions due to illness for my wudu?<\/span><\/p>\n

4. I understand some madhabs don\u2019t view bleeding from skin as impure and not breaking wudu, can I temporarily adopt this view when I have flare ups?<\/span><\/p>\n

Please can you answer as I am concerned about missing salah times due to this, and sometimes the cuts are wet from one salah time to the next.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

May Allah assist you and heal you completely. You should seek medical help and keep the skin moisturized so it doesn\u2019t get dry.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As for your questions:<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1- If the blood is not flowing, the wudhu will not break. Even though if it is absorbed by something. However due to blood being najis one should be careful. If it is bigger than a dirham (about 3 cm) salah in such clothing is not valid.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Therefore you can dress the wound or place a tissue on it for the blood not to mess your clothing.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

2- Water moving the blood will not break the wudhu. The blood itself must come out of the actual wound or go beyond the surface of the wound, then one\u2019s wudhu will break.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

3- Wudhu is a condition for salah. Without wudhu a person\u2019s salah will be invalid. In such a case there is no concession. There are treatment that is done to prevent it from getting severe.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You should follow it strictly and use the treatment properly. Likewise you should control your diet and see what inflames it.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

4- It is important to strictly adhere to one madhab. There are concession that the ulama give in dire need. However this is not a general case.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There is other madhabs that don\u2019t consider blood as impure and that doesn\u2019t break wudhu. In this instance there is no need of it.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

If the blood is coming out for every salah, then you will be considered as ma\u2019zoor (excuse person). Then you should renew your wudhu for every salah. You don\u2019t have to worry about the blood.<\/span><\/p>\n
