Is there any penalty if a person in the state of ihram kills ants?<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Please advise on the matter of intermingling in gatherings.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/strong><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Answer:<\/strong><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1- In the state of ihram, a person is not allowed to kill animals. However there are some exceptions. There is no dam nor sadaqah if a person in ihram kills ants.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

However if they were harmless and were not annoying them, then this is incorrect but there will be no penalty.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

2- Islam encourages haya\/modesty. In the Quran Allah emphasises upon the believing man and woman to lower their gazes.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It is not appropriate for Muslims to intermingle. There must be segregation. If the gathering is mixed, there will be a great chance of fitna where the laws of hijab are not maintained and the gazes are not lowered.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Therefore to have mixed gatherings is prohibited and one should stay away from such gatherings. We should work on bringing the Shariah alive and follow it strictly. Our goal is to prevent obscenity and preserve chastity.<\/span><\/p>\n
