Salaam, so I did a ghusl after janabah and it wasn\u2019t until afterwards I couldn\u2019t remember if I had washed the inside of my private area or not (the front area) but I am sure that water reached the whole of my body when doing this ghusl.\u00a0 So instead of repeating the ghusl, I just washed the part that I thought I omitted. Now I\u2019m having doubts about whether I washed the inside of my back passage. What do I do?<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span>Do I need to repeat my ghusl? Or was it okay to wash the inside part of my back passage too and carry on with my prayers after wudu?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In the Hanafi madhab, the essentials of ghusl (ritual purification) are to ensure that water reaches the entire external body, including all skin and hair. It is not required to wash the inside of the private parts (front or back) during ghusl. <\/span>Mawdi`al-sharaj <\/span><\/i>refers to the \u201canal orifice\u201d, it is that part of the anal canal that remains virtually closed at rest. It is not compulsory to wash the inside of the orifice of both back and front passages.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As for the private areas, it is required to wash the external parts of the private area, but there is no obligation to wash inside the front or back passage, as this is not part of the external body. Therefore, in your situation, since you are certain that water reached the entire external body, including the external private parts, your ghusl is valid.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Conclusion, You do not need to repeat your ghusl, nor do you need to wash the inside of the back passage. You can continue with your prayers, provided you perform wudu as usual.<\/span><\/p>\n
