Is saying ‘Oh my Jesus’ when shocked or surprised shirk?<\/span><\/p>\n

In the name of Allah, the <\/strong>Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Answer<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The reason why Christians say O my Jesus is because they think of him (peace be upon him) as God. Muslims say O Allah, Allah o akbar or Alhamdu lillah in shock or surprise.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

One must be very careful of uttering words of shirk and those words in which there is a hint of it. This is because we should not imitate non-muslims in things which go against our deen and cause the severe displeasure of Allah.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Allah says in Quran:\u00a0 –<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And do not call besides Allah on that which can neither benefit you nor harm you, for if you do then surely you will\u00a0be of the wrong doers.[i]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Sura 10:106<\/span><\/p>\n
