If one was on, for example, the Shafi\u2019i madhhab and was following all the rulings according to it, then becomes a Hanafi for a legitimate reason such as moving to a place which is almost entirely Hanafi, must all of the actions they did that were invalid according to the Hanafis when they were Shafi\u2019i be corrected? For example, if they cleaned an impurity in the Shafi\u2019i way (that would still be deemed impure according to the Hanafi school), is that thing now impure for them?<\/span><\/p>\n

No, if one were to switch their Madhhab, they would not be required to redo any of the actions they did before switching Madhhab. This is because all four Madh\u0101hib are based on the Sunnah of the Prophet (saw), albeit different interpretations of the Sunnah.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Therefore, it is permissible to do actions either way as long as one is picking a Madhhab and adhering to all its rulings, not picking and choosing that which is easy for them from the Madh\u0101hib.<\/span><\/p>\n
