I am a diabetic and will be performing umrah. My sugars need to be checked regularly throughout the day. This is done by pricking my fingertip. When I enter state of ihram, can I still check my sugars or will the break the state of ihram.<\/span><\/p>\n

Answer:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

May Allah (swt) grant you shifa\u2019 and ease. It is permissible for you to check your blood sugar levels in this manner after entering Ihram for \u2018Umrah, but keep in mind that if the blood flows your wudhu will be broken. A person is required to be in a state of purity when performing Tawaf. If wudhu or ghusl is not valid during Tawaf a person would be required to either repeat the Tawaf if they are still in Makkah, or to give damm (expiation for a pilgrim). This is not the case for Ihram or Halaq\/Qasr (shaving\/trimming), where a person is not required to be in a state of wudhu. For Sa\u2019i (safa & marwah), whilst one should perform it with wudhu, there is no penalty if done without it.<\/span><\/p>\n
