It was mentioned that meat only needs to be Taahir\/Paak, not necessarily halal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">I have two questions:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">1. Does this imply that meat from a non- halal animal, such as a lion, is permissible if blood is drained?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">2.When we say the meat needs to be Taahir, does it simply require the shedding of blood, or must it be slaughtered according to Islamic rites, such as by a Muslim or Person of the Book?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">I hope this message finds you in the best of Iman and health.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Islamic dietary law clearly defines what is Hal\u0101l (permissible) and Tahir (ritually pure) for human consumption. However, when it comes to feeding animals, the rulings may differ, particularly in relation to the <strong>source of the meat <\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>ritual slaughter<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">1.Whether meat from non-\u1e25al\u0101l animals (like lions) can be used for pet food.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">2.Whether the requirement of the meat being Tahir necessitates Islamic slaughter, or merely the draining of blood<strong>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">In the Hanafi madhab, animals that are haram to eat (like lions, tigers, or any beast of prey) are generally considered impure (Najis) after death, even if the blood is drained. Their flesh is not Tahir, and thus not permissible to benefit from, even for feeding animals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">So even if the blood is drained, if the\u00a0animal itself is not permissible to consume (haram)\u00a0or it\u00a0dies without proper slaughter, then its\u00a0flesh is impure (Najis)\u00a0and it is\u00a0not permissible to use or feed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">It is not permissible to feed your pets meat from haram animals\u00a0(e.g., lion), as such animals are inherently\u00a0impure and their flesh is\u00a0Najis, regardless of how they die.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">For meat to be\u00a0Tahir, it must come from a\u00a0\u1e25al\u0101l animal\u00a0and be\u00a0slaughtered according to Islamic rites\u00a0(by a Muslim or Ahl al-Kit\u0101b).
