I have a detailed question regarding the method of performing Istinja for men\u2014specifically concerning the cleaning process after urination and the involvement of the hands.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

After completing urination, performing Istibra\u2019:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Is it necessary to use the left hand to physically wash the penis while pouring water over it with the right hand?<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Or, is it sufficient to simply pour water over the penis without using the hand to touch or clean it directly\u2014meaning, would the act of pouring water alone ensure cleanliness and purification?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Answer<\/strong>:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    After urination, Istinjaa\u2019 is only necessary if the impurity has spread from the exit more than the size of a dirham. If one urinates without defecation and the impurity does not spread from the exit, then Istinjaa\u2019 is recommended.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    The only thing which is necessary for Istinjaa\u2019 is that one wash the area until one is sure that it has been cleansed from impurity. Cleaning the area by rubbing with the hand is not necessary unless the impurity is sticky or solid to the extent that the motion of poured water would not remove it. However, the method mentioned by the scholars which one should follow includes using the left hand to rub the area while pouring the water with the right hand.<\/span><\/p>\n
