During the hajj time my wife would have been on her periods. My wife was advised by a local female scholar to take &quot;the pill&quot; to stop her menstruating during hajj. She did indeed take the pills well in advance and continued the dosage as directed.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWe completed hajj and returned. It has recently transpired that whilst she was taking the tablets during hajj, her &quot;normal&quot; period did not kick in, however she did experience discharge. The discharge was neither blood, nor was it transparent. It had a slight murkiness to it. She treated this as &quot;istihaazah&quot; and cleaned and bathed herself after every discharge to partake in any worship.\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n\t<strong>In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAnswer\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tDischarge that is red, yellow, brown, green or black in colour is considered as haidh, however, discharge that is white is considered as istihadah. (Hidayah p.63 v.1)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tKeeping the aforementioned ruling in mind, if your wife saw red, yellow, brown, green or black discharge it will be considered as haidh.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIf the discharge she saw was in fact haidh then please email me again when did she experienced it and for how many days so that a more clearer ruling can be given in terms of her Hajj.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tOnly Allah Knows Best\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tMohammed Tosir Miah\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tDarul Ifta Birmingham<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My wife and I performed hajj a few years ago.
