\n\tThe Qur’an and Sunnah have provided ample guidance on the subject of clothing, which can be summarized into four parts:<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \n\t\tOur clothing must cover our body adequately, which means those parts, which are cover-worthy. Thus, for a man, it is from his belly button to his knees and for a woman, it is her entire body except for her hands and face. These parts must never be exposed to any other person (except in genuine circumstances like in front of a doctor for medical treatment). In addition, the clothes must not be see-through.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n\t<\/li>\n
  2. \n\t\tOur clothing\/ dress should establish our Muslim identity.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n\t<\/li>\n
  3. \n\t\tFor men, the garment they wear should not be below their ankles.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n\t<\/li>\n
  4. \n\t\tFinally, for men, silk clothing is also not permissible. <\/span><\/span>                                                                                                                             <\/span>\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \n\tFurthermore, women’s clothing should not attract men’s attention to them. It should not be shiny and flashy so that everyone notices the dress and the woman.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

    \n\tKeeping the aforementioned principles in mind, it is best that women do not wear bright coloured jilbaabs outside the house or in public functions where strange men’s gazes and looks may fall on them. There is nothing wrong in wearing bright clothing or beautiful clothing with the intention to please your husband at home. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

    \n\tIn the Holy Qur’an Allah \"sub\u1e25\u0101nahu whilst describing the heavenly wives says, “They will look like rubies and corals.” (Surah Ar Rahman v.58) indicating that adornment is a means of attracting the attention of one’s spouse.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
