Question

Is it allowed for a man to cover spots with makeup?

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) cursed men who imitate women and women who imitate men.[1]

If the intention is to cover an unsightly defect on one’s body, it will be permissible as long this act is not done for the purposes of deception or imitation of the opposite gender (females).[2]
