Question:

AssalamoAlaikum, dear brother in Islam. I wanted to enquire about few mas'alas regarding kaffarah.

1. Does the kaffarah apply if married couples have intercourse when the wife has completed her menses completely but has not had a bath? If yes, how much?

2. Is there a kaffarah if the wife has stated with truthfulness that she believes that her menses are over and has had ghusl but when the married couple have intercourse, there is some blood found after the husband having ejaculated in his wife. If yes, please state the amount for the kaffarah.

3. During Ramadhan while fasting, the person masturbated and ejaculated. Does the kaffarah apply? If yes, how much?

Answer:

Bismillah

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

The above mentioned situations do not require a person to give kaffarah (expiation).

Kaffarah becomes compulsory if a person intentionally breaks the fast of Ramadhan by eating, drinking or engaging in sexual intercourse. [1]

If a fasting person ejaculates as a result of masturbating, he will have to repeat the fast and there will be no kaffarah. [2]
