Also is it true according to Shafi’s, tasmiyah upon slaughtering is not a must? But rather it is mustahab?

Answer:

According to the Shafi’ee manual Tuhfa Al-Tullab, the saying of Bismillah at the time of slaughtering is counted as a Sunnah.
