A father asked the son if he wanted to do his Qurbani in Malawi. Son said no I've got the intention to do it elsewhere. Father bought a share for the son's Qurbani regardless in Malawi. Now the son has changed his mind and wants to go ahead with his Qurbani (that his father purchased) in Malawi. Will the son's change of intention (after Qurbani was bought) suffice for his Qurbani to be valid?

It should firstly be noted that a father cannot do Qurbani on behalf of his adult son. If the conditions of Qurbani fall upon the son he must take care of it himself, if they do not then it is not wajib for him to do Qurbani.
The father will be considered a 3rd person (fuduli) in the transaction and therefore, if the son does agree with the share that his father arranged for him then it will be permissible.
Only Allah SWT alone knows best.
