Question:
Can you clarify the ruling regarding haircuts and short back and sides skin fades manhunt e.t.c
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
Regarding the matter of Haircuts two things must be known:
1. It is impermissible to have shave one part of the head and leave another. [1]
2. It is impermissible to imitate any specific group, cult, religion, or non-muslims.
Therefore, many prevalent hair styles are not permissible for muslims. Haircuts which are adopted to follow new trends set by non-muslims are not permissible. Skin fades and taper fades fall into the category of no. 1. Short back and sides if done to imitate non-muslims, it will be impermissible.
