Question:
If someone placed a sutra smaller than an arm’s length, but it is clearly visible, will that be fine?
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
The sutrah should be at least the length of a forearm or more, and this is the proper Sunnah size mentioned by the scholars. They explain that the sutrah should be about a cubit or more in height. So, the correct practice is to use a sutrah that is an arm’s length or bigger, as this follows the Sunnah.[1]
