Question:
Assalamualaikum Sheikh,
I hope you are doing well. I need your guidance on an important matter.
I have received an interview call for a 4-month co-op position in Health and Safety at Maple Leaf Foods. As far as I understand, the company processes various meat products, including pork and other non-halal items.
My role would mainly involve Health and Safety responsibilities such as preventing accidents and injuries, conducting inspections, and providing safety training. I would not be directly involved in handling or selling meat.

Answer:
To buy or sell pork, alcohol or other prohibited items is impermissible [1]. However, there is no problem accepting a role in health and safety at Maple Leaf Foods given that you would not be directly involved in the buying or selling of prohibited items such as pork [2].
