Question:
Assalamualikum. My usual habit is of 10days. After my last periods (10days) I once again had spotting after about 9 or 10 days from my last period but it disappeared within 15days. Then after 22 days from my last period i again had spotting. Now please tell me what is my period of cleanliness 15 days or 20 days. When should i consider my periods and when istihaza.
Answer:
In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.
The Prophet of Allah [saw] has said, “Two menstruations cannot occur within fifteen days of each other.” (Sunan Baihaqi)
Keeping this hadith in mind, the bleeding which you saw after 9 or 10 days since your last period would be considered as istihadah, which is a period of cleanliness and not haidh (periods).
