Question:

Myths and practices for pregnant women

Answer:

Bismillah

There are no myths or practices for a pregnant woman to do during a solar or lunar eclipse. Similarly, there is no such thing as a pregnant woman not being allowed to touch sharp objects. Believing in myths falls under superstition and superstitious beliefs in Islam amounts to shirk.

Saaiduna Abdullah Ibn Masud [ranhu] narrates that the Prophet of Allah [saw] said: “Tiyarah (superstitious belief in bird omens) is shirk.” (Sunan Abu Dawud p.190 v.2)
