Question
Is there anything written on doing the jumuah khutbah in a tune? Some people claim it is mustahab.

Answer:
There is no doubt that the Friday congregational prayer/Jummua is a sign of Islam, just as the azaan is also well known by the non-Muslims.
Due to these identities of Islam being so famous amongst the non-Muslims, it will be preferable to beautify them in an effort to attract love and admiration for the jummua khutba and the azaan. In the books of Fiqh like Noor ul Idhaa[1] and Badaai’ us Sanaa’,[2] there are a lot of guidelines concerning the length of the Khutba, its contents, the conditions for validity, etc. but there is no mention of beautifying the recitation of the khutba. This is because the Jurists have not seen any great importance in emphasizing reciting the khutba in a beautiful tone, and there is no harm if it is left out.
However, when the Khateeb is reciting the verses of Quran during the khutba, it is mustahab to recite these in a more beautiful tone as it is not
similar to the other words of the khutba, and the beauty of recitation is also considered when there are several people to choose from for Imaamat of Salaat.[3]
