Question:

I was asked about the weight of the ring for men, one mithqal.

I found that to be 4.374 grams. Any further details?

Answer:

Indeed, the ring worn by a man cannot weigh more than a mithqal. [1][2]

Now, the question is how much is the weight of a mithqal? It is said that one mithqal is equal to 100 seeds of barley. [3][4]

Even though in other schools of thought the reference may be different.

How much is the weight of a barley seed? Here as well, there are many views, and the currently prevalent view is that you mentioned in your query. [5]
