Question:

A man sends money for his Qurbaani to India.

• Is this permissible or is it necessary to make his Qurbaani in his own country?
• If ‘Eid ul Adha – in his country (S. Africa) falls on a Saturday but in India, ‘Eid takes place on the day before, i.e. Friday. Will his Qurbaani be valid if it is made in India on a Friday when Eid in his country is still going to take place the next day?

Answer:

It is permissible to send the money for Qurbani to a different country. The place where the Qurbani is taking place is taken into consideration along with the day when it actually becomes waajib upon the person. So the day has to be after it is waajib upon the person according to the place the Qurbani is taking place at. (Fatawa Mahmudiyyah, vol. 17, pg. 450)
