Question:
Is wearing only kurta pajama aur jubba is sunnah?
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
Umm Salamah (رضي اللّٰه عنها) narrated:
“The most loved garment to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was the Qamees (long shirt/Kurta/Jubba).” (1)
Tirmizi, 1764
From this narration, we can clearly understand that wearing Kurta/Jubba is Sunnah.
There are many other narrations to support this type of dress of the Prophet (ﷺ).
Qamees refers to a long shirt that is loose.
In other narrations, it is mentioned that the Qamees’s length was up to the middle of his ankles and the sleeves came up to his wrists. (2)
If any clothes fit the description of the Qamees of the Prophet (ﷺ), it could be considered Sunnah clothing.
Only Allah knows best.
