Question:

On the 10th of June 2021, I have planned to get dental bonding also known as composite bonding on my teeth. I have several gaps in my front teeth and I feel insecure. I would like to know whether I can get this done as my actual teeth will not be shaved down and composite bonding lasts about 5 years. Also, I follow the Hanafi school of thought, therefore I would like to know if this dental bonding would affect my wudu and ghusl.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

This procedure will not affect wudu or ghusl as it does not prevent one from carrying out the four faraaidh of wudu1 or the three faraaidh of ghusl2.  During ghusl, you will still be able to gargle and the bonding will not nullify the act of gargling.
