Question:

I used to read Qaza namaaz’s after Fajr and it was close to sunrise time and sometimes may have gone through/over sunrise, not knowing these are forbidden times. Will these need to be done again or are they accepted as I did not see the ruling?

Is the ruling the same for all Islam-related stuff, if you did something without knowing, does that get accepted as you didn’t know about it at that point?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Qadha Salah can be prayed at any time without restrictions except during sunrise when the sun is at its zenith and sunset. [Radd ul Muhtaar; Volume 2 page 524, Al Hidayah; Volume 1 page 163] [1] [2]

This restriction is only for Salah. Other forms of worship like reciting the Qur’an, doing Zikr, reading Durood and etc. are all permissible.

It is also noteworthy to know that no Nafl Salah can be prayed after Fajr until the sun has risen and Asr until after Maghrib Salah has been performed.

Only Allah knows best.
