Question:
I had my period on 4 September and it ended on 11 September which is my usual menstruation week every month. But I got my period again on 22 September. I considered this as haidh and stopped offering Salah. On 2 October my bleeding hasn’t stopped. What should I do in this circumstance? Was the bleeding from 22 September really considered as Haidh or Istihadha?
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
Bleeding within the (minimum) 15 days of Tuhr and after the maximum (10) days of Haidh, is Istihaadhaa (Fatawa Hindiyya, Vol 1, Pg 42). Therefore, the bleeding from 22 September to 26 September was Istihaadhaa, as it was within the 15 days of Tuhr and after 10 days from 4 September. As Salah was compulsory for you during that time, you will need to make up for the missed prayers after your Haidh.
The bleeding from 26 September is Haidh as it is after the 15 days of Tuhr.
لو رات الدم بعد اكثر الحيض و النفاس في اقل مدة الطهر فما رات بعد الاكثر ان كانت المبتدأة و بعد العادة ان كانت المعتادة استحاضة
Only Allah knows best.
