Question:

Salaam will the below information be classed as Watn sukna and he does kasr, right?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

When a person lives permanently in Birmingham with his family, Birmingham is regarded as his homeland (watn e Asli). He will therefore be regarded as a Musafir every time he visits Huddersfield with the intention of staying less than 15 days. Therefore, he will perform Qasr of his Salaah if he rents an apartment in Huddersfield with no intention of permanently relocating there and only staying for a few days.

Watn e Sukna refers to a place where a person intends to reside for less than 15 days after undertaking a Shari’ journey. (Al Fatawa al Hindiyyah, pg 157, vol 2)[1]
