Question:
A patient is suffering from migraines. The doctor has prescribed a nasal spray. He was informed by the pharmacist that the nasal spray does not enter the throat and stays in the nasal cavity. Would his fast break if he were to use the spray?
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
In the principle of Islam if anything like medicine enters into the throat or brain the fasting will be broken. (1)
Indeed, his fasting will not be broken by nasal spray if it does not reach the throat or brain.
Only Allah (عز و جل) knows best.
