Question:

So i done my wudu for fajr salah but then noticed whilst i wiped my nose that some blood had come out, i waited for it to stop obviously but there was still a little coming out and i didn’t want to poke my nose too hard incase it started dripping. I washed it again in a similar fashion and then i started my prayer.

Does this little bit of blood inside the nose invalidate my prayer?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Since the blood was still flowing and it exited past the hard bone of the nose, it would have invalidated your wudhu. If the blood had stopped flowing or it did not exit past the hard part of the nose from the time you started wudhu until the end of salah, then your wudhu would have been intact and your salah valid.[1]

If your blood is still flowing and you near the end of the salah time, you should perform the faraa’idh of wudhu and salah just before the salah time ends.[2]

If it is possible, when the bleeding lessens to a manageable degree, you should try to clean your nose and safely block the bleeding from passing the hard part of your nose. You can then perform wudhu and pray salah so long as the bleeding does not pass the hard part of the nose.[3]
