Question:

Sometimes I have some sexual thoughts but I don’t want to. As it prevents me from doing my ibadah in a peaceful way and praying with khushu. Also when I see something or do something, my mind is randomly connecting with sexual things. I try to neglect those thoughts, but it comes to my mind. Alhamdulillah it has really reduced compared to my past. Mostly this happens when I want to do ibadah or do wudhu.

Do you have any recommendations for me to help me with not having sexual thoughts constantly or at multiple times in the day?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

These thoughts should not prevent you from continuing your acts of worship. The more you remember Allah through salah, du’a, and dhikr, the more strength you will gain to overcome these challenges. Remain steadfast in your worship, and seek Allah’s forgiveness for any mistakes you may have made. You can also observe fasting, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) mentioned that fasting helps to reduce sexual desire.
