Assalamu Alaykum
I would like to kown the differences between men and women Namaz any Hadis for the women Namaz , Ruku , sajda , kiyam and jalsa is differet then men Namaz
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
The differences in salah between men and women are all based on the principle of satr. It is for this reason that a woman performing salah should adopt postures which is the most modest and concealing. The following are the differences:
Whilst standing in qiyam the hands should be placed on their bosoms. (Raddul Muhtar) |
In ruku arms should be tucked in and hands should be placed over the knees with closed fingers. (Raddul Muhtar) |
In sujood the arms should rest on the ground and there should be no space in between the stomach and thigh. (Raddul Muhtar) Ibn Umar narrates that the Prophet (sallal lahu alayhi wa sallam) said, “When a woman sits in salah she should place one thigh over the other, and when she prostrates she should press her stomach to her thighs in a manner that is most concealing for her. Indeed Allah looks at her saying, “Oh my angels, I make you witness that I have forgiven her.” (Baihaqi) |
During tasahhud a woman should take out her both legs towards the right hand side of the body and rest on her bottom. (Raddul Muhtar) |
All the above differences mention are due to the fact that these methods and postures are more concealing and modest for the woman.
Only Allah knows best.
