Question:

I recently got a job offer from a company who intend to expand in to online gambling market. I am offered a job as site reliability engineer where my role will be limited to maintaining IT infrastructure on which these gambling/gaming portals would run. Is it Haram to work for such a company?

Answer:

It will not be permissible for you to take up the aforementioned job as you will be in a way assisting in doing something which is unlawful and haram in Islam. Allah says, “Help one another in righteousness and piety, but help you not one another in sin and transgression.” (Surah Maaidah v.2)
