Question:

Assalaamualaikum Mufti saheb. I read in Behasti Zewar that women can only wear gold and silver rings. Can women wear plastic rings?

Answer:

It is totally permissible for women to wear gold and silver rings. Allahmah Zufur Ahmad narrates that it is permissible for women to wear all types of jewelleries made out of gold and silver like rings, bangles, anklets, necklaces etc… (Illaus Sunan p.289 v.17)

It is permissible for women to wear plastic necklaces or bangles etc… (Khawateen Ke Li Jadeed Masaail p.112)

However, it is Makruh Tanzihi and not Tahrimi for women to wear rings other than gold and silver. (Fatawa Rashidiyah p.491)

If the rings are made out of iron but is plated with gold or silver in such a way that the iron cannot be seen, then there is nothing wrong in women wearing them. (Fatawa Hindiyyah p.335 v.5)
