Question
Assalaamu alaykum
A person, who lives in London, has family in Bradford and Leeds. He intends to stay for three weeks in Yorkshire, spending the weekdays with his family in Bradford and the weekends with his family in Leeds. In this case, should he pray salahtul qasr throughout the duration of his stay in Yorkshire or not?

Answer:
A person is considered to be a musafir when they exit the boundaries of their locality intending to travel the safr distance (88.8 kilometres) or more. However, if one intends to stay at the place they are travelling to for 15 nights or more, one will be a muqeem there.
Given that Bradford and Leeds are both considered to be cities in their own right, by making the intention of staying 3 weeks in Yorkshire and spending the weekdays in Bradford and the weekends in Leeds one will not become a muqeem and will there perform qasr in both Bradford and Leeds.[1]
